Animal Liberation activists in Scotland took action against a retailer in Glasgows bougie west-end this winter after displaying large quantities of fur and animal skin in their shop window including a £2.5k mink coat. Activists used non-violent action (graffiti) to demonstrate that they will not accept this kind of violence in their city. These methods of activism are often criticised but as this action (and countless others) have shown, property damage is a language the bourgeoisie understand. The retailer removed all items from their window the next morning, were forced to close for a day and have since ceased to display such cruelty in their store. This has undoubtedly had an effect on their sales, by extension, the production of animal products and the needless slaughter of innocent beings. Defend Direct Action.
