According to an anonymous report received by Eco-Resistência, the ALF rescued rabbits from one of the largest suppliers of animals for laboratories in Brazil. Video from the action may be released soon

E-News-15-06 (3)BERLIN—A neuroscientist who has been the target of animal rights activists says he is giving up on primate research. Nikos Logothetis, a director at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, Germany, says he will conclude his current experiments on macaques “as quickly as possible” and then shift his research to rodent neural networks. In a letter last week to fellow primate researchers, Logothetis cites a lack of support from colleagues and the wider scientific community as key factors in his decision.

– New York, NY – At a hearing today in a New York County Supreme Court in Manhattan, the Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP) argued that chimpanzees Hercules and Leo are “autonomous and self-determining beings” who should be issued an order that releases them from the laboratory where they’re being held at Stony Brook University to Save the Chimps sanctuary in Florida.

Imprisoned journalist and former Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal has been taken to the Intensive Care Unit of Schuylkill Medical Center in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, after he was removed from prison for a medical emergency without any notification to his family, friends or lawyers.
