Rich Valley Furs has officially opened on the former Lion Farms property in Ohio (2707 Hoaglin Rd, Van Wert, OH 45891), bringing mink farming back to the area following the previous facility’s closure.
Much of the experienced management team is staying on, providing stability and day-to-day expertise. The new owners plan to modernize operations with a focus on sustainability, while also supporting local jobs and the regional economy.
The farm currently houses top- quality mink selected for strong genetics and health ahead of the breeding season. Management thanked neighboring farms and industry partners for their support during the transition and full operations are expected to begin this upcoming breeding season.
Three years ago. Lion Farms was raided and forced into closure. No one was arrested. That raid on Lion Farms is the largest fur farm liberation in U.S. history. The ALF cells of the 2020’s have pushed the fur industry to the brink of collapse.
