-There was a 19 percent decrease in mink killed on US fur farms, as well as a 7 percent decrease in the number of breeding stock.
-Mink pelt production in the United States in 2024 totaled 771,200 million pelts, down 19 percent from 2023. Wisconsin, the largest mink producing state, produced 438,710 pelts. Utah, the second largest producing State, produced 95,230 pelts.
-Value of pelts produced during 2024 was $28.1 million, down 14 percent from $32.6 million in 2023.
-The average price per pelt for the 2024 crop year was $36.40, up $2.30 from $34.10 in 2023.
