Open Rescue of 17 Lambs 269 Liberation Animale (Viterbo, Italy)

On the night of the 15th to 16th of April, activists from the 269 Libération Animale organisation carried out two direct actions simultaneously against the ILCO slaughterhouse, in Acquapendente (Viterbo, Italy).

Seventeen lambs were liberated and transported to secret locations across Europe.

The killing floor of the slaughterhouse was occupied and blocked to stop the killing and cause significant economic damage to the slaughterhouse, as its activity is at its peak during the Easter celebration period.

During 13 hours, 34 activists coming from Italy, France and Germany held their ground by chaining themselves to the killing structure.

They resisted and were violently evicted early in the afternoon, before being taken to police stations.
They were released in the evening, and despite psychological and physical exhaustion, they are all safe now.

More than ever determined to fight alongside the animals, we’d like to sincerely thank all the people who gave us their support through texts, messages and donations, as well as sharing our posts on social media, and coming on site in solidarity.
