Fire destroyed the barn and heavily damaged the butcher shop at the Siverling Century Farm on Hwy 40 northeast of Bloomer on Monday. Owner Jared Siverling went out to put bacon in the smoker at 5 a.m. and found the barn was engulfed in flames. He called 911 and the Bloomer Fire Department responded and called for mutual aid from New Auburn Area Fire Department, Cornell Area Fire Department, Tilden Volunteer Fire Department, Chippewa Fire District, Colfax Fire Department, and Eagle Point Fire Department.
Siverling posted on Facebook, “We lost the barn, all the equipment in the barn, the adjoining sheds (to include the slaughter shed and holding shed).
The new butcher shop is going to need a rebuild…the roof and one wall burnt, and there is smoke damage throughout.”
