A new set of hard-hitting graffiti has popped up leading to Malta’s marine park in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.
Photographs of the freshly painted graffiti were anonymously submitted to Lovin Malta, this time telling people “welcome to dolphin prison”.
“Let us be free, empty the tanks,” the rest of the graffiti reads, with more repeating to visitors “don’t fund slavery”.
The dolphin park has been facing intense criticism, especially after the news of the death of three female dolphins within the Mediterraneo Marine Park.
Over the years, many have raised concerns over dolphins in captivity, with countless activists and environmentalists insisting that the mammals are living a miserable cycle of suffering in conditions that are miles away from their natural habitat.
Lovin Malta has also been conducting research into dolphins in captivity, focusing on various aspects such as life in captivity and why dolphins are not happy living such a life.
Animal Liberation Malta has been at the centre of the issue, continuously calling for authorities to take swift action, including closing down the marine park.
Do you think dolphins deserve a natural life?
