Footage given to us shows saboteurs rescuing crows and magpies from a ladder trap. Ladder traps are used by gamekeepers to kill corvids in large numbers, whereby the birds can fly in through gaps in the roof of the trap but are unable to fly out again. The floor was covered in rotting pheasant corpses and maggots infested the dregs of dirty water left. These birds had a lucky escape, but many others are far less fortunate.
Please always keep an eye out for shooting paraphenalia when out in the countryside. Together we can stop this cruel bloodsport.
