New Animal Liberation Prisoner in Chicago

brian-vaillancourtBrian Vaillancourt was arrested on February 9, 2013 in Chicago for allegedly trying to burn down a McDonalds. He is currently being held in the Cook County Jail on a $250,000 bond. His next court appearance is April 29. He wants everyone to know that:

“This is a ‘real’ war and I intend on fighting until my last breathe on earth. And although me being locked up is nothing compared to what the animals go through, we must continue to fight even harder than ever. The enemy is real.”

He was charged with Aggravated Arson 720 ILCS 5 20-1.1(a)(1) [11300], a Class X felony which carries a mandatory minimum of 6 – 30 years in the Department of Corrections. The Class X felony is, short of first degree murder, the most serious felony offense on the books in Illinois.

Please continue to write Brian as he is looking at a lengthy legal battle which will be fought from jail. He greatly appreciates everyone’s letters and support. His commissary fund is now below $100. All donations for basic necessities, stamps & paper, and supplemental vegan food are deeply appreciated. Money orders may be sent to him at Cook County Jail. Be sure to include his Inmate Number.

“If we have no prisoners, we have already lost the war.” -Keith Mann
