The Vancouver Police Wednesday released surveillance video from several Vancouver furriers in a bid to nab apparent activists who pelted the stores with red paint.Snowflake Furs, Pappas Furs and Speiser Furs all had red paint hurled at their premises – a common tactic used by animal activists to protest the killing of animals to obtain their valuable coats for expensive clothing items.

In an anonymous press release the Animal Liberation Front claimed credit for the vandalism.

Snowflake Furs, located at 750 West Pender, was hit at about 3:45 a.m. on May 22nd, when vandals threw red paint on the north and west windows of the premises.

A few minutes later the activists struck again, hurling red paint at the exterior of Pappas Furs, located at 449 Hamilton Street.

The third target of the vandals was Speiser Furs at 3022 Granville Street, where red paint was once again thrown at the furrier’s windows and doors.

Police say all three outlets have been targeted before, but no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Vancouver Police at (604) 717-3902 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
