Send a Communique
Sending an anonymous communique about the act of liberation or sabotage is almost always a good idea. It can inspire others to action and help combat the propaganda put out by the animal profiteers. Communiques sent to the North American Animal Liberation Press Office are always widely circulated, and press releases are provided to local and national media sources. The profiteers suffer when the animals’ side of the story is publicized, and they hate it.
There is little additional risk to activists involved in sending a communique, if it is done properly. In more than 20 years of operation, no one has ever been caught for sending a communique. That said, there are a few precautions to take.
Most communiques are sent by email, and this is probably the safest way. First create an anonymous email account, preferably at protonmail.com but any place will do. This ideally should be done from a computer that is not your own but a minimum of a VPN and non-personal wifi connection is mandatory. After creating the new email (don’t use your real name or identifying information), write the communique and send it to animallibpressoffice@protonmail.com. You can just write what happened, or you can write about how great it felt to be helping animals in such an effective manner. J
Add photos or video if possible to the email, as these make it easier to show people what has happened and why. You will need to have a dedicated camera for this, as you should NEVER bring your mobile phone to an action. There are plenty of free apps out there that will scrub meta data (such as time, date, and location) from images, but the Press Office will repeat that process before publishing the images.
After sending the communique, NEVER access that email again.
