(AP) &#8211; A Florida animal rights activist was found guilty of misdemeanor theft and fined $500 for throwing a fisherman\u2019s tilapia back into the water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card collection-item \" data-type=\"text\">\n<div class=\"card-content card-article\">\n<p>The Tampa Bay Times reports that Michael Leaming was found guilty in a non-jury trial Friday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card collection-item \" data-type=\"text\">\n<div class=\"card-content card-article\">\n<p>Leaming and his young son had gone to a park last year after taking part in a protest at a fast-food restaurant. The boy saw Robert Hope had left a fish he had caught on a concrete deck. Leaming&#8217;s son told the Hope family, &#8220;Did you know fish feel pain?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card collection-item card-embedded-content\" data-type=\"oembed_response\">\n<div class=\"card-content card-article\">\n<div class=\"element element-oembed oembed-youtube responsive-embed-16x9 relative flex-container-row justify-center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nLO-4HNUJuU?feature=oembed\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card collection-item \" data-type=\"text\">\n<div class=\"card-content card-article\">\n<p>Testimony showed Leaming then escalated the argument, finally throwing the tilapia back in the water. He yelled, &#8220;Call the police!
