We claim the incendiary attack on the UMCE’s animal facility. First, we want to make some points clear.<\/p>\n

1. This action was aimed at destroying and making uninhabitable a building that is used to torture, abuse and experiment on animals. A place that on several occasions has been targeted by groups that have freed animals who were locked up there. Despite these acts of sabotage, the enclosures have been filled with animals, time and again.<\/p>\n

Because of this, when a few weeks ago we read the\u00a0claim<\/a>\u00a0of the comrades who took rats and frogs from this facility, we had no doubt, it was time for direct action and fire would close this place down.<\/p>\n

2. We are individuals who are external to the protests and the university. At no time do we seek to terrorize the people who are leading the takeover of the ex-pedagogical. The action was planned taking care to safeguard the safety of the people who inhabit the university campus and avoid physically hurting anyone.<\/p>\n

3. We make this announcement to position ourselves and to question the tolerance and complicity in the torture of animals at this university, both during and before the takeover, and the silence and false criticism of those who remained passive in front of the confinement and experimentation on animals, allowing it to develop without major problems. Let it be clear, silence and passivity make us accomplices of torture!<\/p>\n

4. We use direct action as an active form of confrontation of domination, of the normal passivity that is complicit in torture, in all its forms. We can not remain apathetic towards animal exploitation. We do not want bigger cages or ‘more ethical’ conditions for torture, we want to destroy all the cages and all forms of exploitation.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, surely other laboratories will be victims of our fire!
\nThe spirit for animal liberation is unbreakable!<\/p>\n

\nReivindicamos el ataque incendiario al bioterio de la UMCE. Frente a esto queremos dejar en claro algunos puntos.<\/p>\n

1. Esta acci\u00f3n apunt\u00f3 a la destrucci\u00f3n e inhabilitaci\u00f3n de una edificaci\u00f3n utilizada para torturar, maltratar y experimentar en animales. Lugar que en varias ocasiones ha sido boicoteado por grupos que han sustra\u00eddo animales all\u00ed encerradxs. Pese a esas acciones de sabotaje, el recinto ha vuelto a ser llenado de animales, una y otra vez.<\/p>\n

Por esto, cuando hace algunas semanas le\u00edmos la reivindicaci\u00f3n de lxs compa\u00f1erxs que se llevaron a ratas y ranas de este bioterio, no nos qued\u00f3 duda, era el momento de que la acci\u00f3n directa y el fuego clausuraran este lugar.<\/p>\n

2. Somos individualidades externas a la movilizaci\u00f3n y universidad. En ning\u00fan momento buscamos aterrorizar a las personas que llevan la movilizaci\u00f3n en el ex-pedag\u00f3gico. La acci\u00f3n fue planificada tomando todos los cuidados para resguardar la seguridad de las personas que habitan el campus universitario y evitar herir f\u00edsicamente a alguien.<\/p>\n

3. Hacemos un llamamiento a posicionarnos y cuestionar la tolerancia y complicidad que se ha tenido con la tortura de animales en esta universidad, tanto durante como antes de la movilizaci\u00f3n, y el silencio y la falsa cr\u00edtica de quienes se mantuvieron pasivxs frente al encierro y experimentaci\u00f3n en animales, permitiendo que se desarrollara sin mayores problemas. Que quede claro \u00a1el silencio y la pasividad nos hacen complices de la tortura!<\/p>\n

4. Asumimos la acci\u00f3n directa como forma activa de confrontaci\u00f3n al dominio, a la normalidad pasiva c\u00f3mplice de la tortura, en todas sus formas. No podemos mantenernos ap\u00e1ticxs ante la explotaci\u00f3n animal. No queremos jaulas m\u00e1s grandes o condiciones \u201cm\u00e1s \u00e9ticas\u201d para la tortura, queremos destruir todas las jaulas y toda forma de explotaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
