A few months ago we slashed the tyres of every single meat truck at Pak
\nMecca slaughterhouse in Digbeth. Last night we did the same at A J Meats
\nslaughterhouse. We slashed the tyres of the meat trucks with a
\nhardware-store braddle, and put a brick through one of their
\nwindscreens.<\/p>\n
Above ground, the animal rights movement in Birmingham (UK) is gaining
\nmomentum \u2013 with constant outreach, slaughterhouse ‘vigils’, and
\ndemonstrations. Although we personally choose not to take part in these
\nthings, we think that it will take a variety of tactics to bring down
\nthe animal industries, and respect whatever tactic others choose, as
\nthey should respect ours. In capitalism, choice is an illusion \u2013 we
\ncannot rely only on convincing the public to go vegan. All of us are
\nconditioned and brainwashed not to challenge the hold the animal
\nindustries have on us.<\/p>\n
So we take the fight to the supply chain and take direct action. Don’t
\nlet that term be watered down \u2013 Direct Action means stepping in the way
\nof the machine \u2013 in this case, stopping the dead bodies of animals being
\ndriven to butcher shops and supermarkets, the morning after they are
\nmurdered. If enough economic damage is caused to businesses like this
\nover time, there will be no tortured bodies on the shelves for people to
\nso flippantly and pointlessly consume.<\/p>\n
This is what we choose to do \u2013 bursts of love and anger in the middle of
\nthe night, causing economic damage to the mass murderers. If the trucks
\ncoming in and out of these hell-holes were filled with crying humans,
\nthen everyone would be up at night smashing them up. Every animal is an
\nindividual, and does not have to die to feed us. In this sense, there is
\nno difference between ‘them’ and ‘us’.<\/p>\n
We encourage and we incite everyone who has ever thought of using these
\ntactics, who has idolised the ALF of the 80s and 90s but thought that it
\nwas a thing of the past, to consider it, to plan it and carry it out \u2013
\nto physically attack one of the many targets in Birmingham and anywhere
\nelse. Damage to property is not ‘violence’. As we carry the ALF torch
\nforward, we pledge never to hurt a living being, human or otherwise.<\/p>\n
