In fur and feather auctions, backyard breeders with zero regulations auction \u2018pet\u2019 animals to the highest bidder, or sell them in their stalls. It truly is a grim environment, with animals in tiny cages, pregnant guinea pigs and rabbits and no oversight whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>We had a free evening, so we decided to pay them a little visit. Hanging around in the car park we worked out what vehicles belonged to the breeders, and whilst one of them was offloading into the pub, we made a run for it, grabbed a cage and left before they came back.<\/p>\n<p>Inside of that cage we found two diamond doves looking terrified, with their feet so caked in shit that we thought it could actually be a fungal infection. Luckily, after a lot of gentle cleaning, their feet started to look better, and with a lot of quiet and calm, they started looking more comfortable and happy every day.<\/p>\n<p>Fuck pet breeders.
